Frequently Asked Questions 


Q. Will this event remain scheduled as planned?

A. Yes.  Frisco Freedom Fest is a "rain-or-shine" event.  The Party in the Plaza, soccer match, and fireworks will only close if the weather becomes severe with heavy downpours, flooding, lighting or tornado warnings.

 

Q. When does the event take place?  
A. Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 4 p.m. until the Fireworks Extravaganza ends.  Activities in the Children's Expo area close at 9:00 p.m. For more detailed information, click on the 'Schedule' link, also listed on the menu above.

 

Q. Where does Frisco Freedom Fest take place?
A. Party in the Plaza and Taste of Frisco will happen in Simpson Plaza at City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The MLS Soccer Match will be at Pizza Hut Park, 9200 World Cup Way.  The major intersection between the two venues is the Dallas North Tollway at Main Street. Simpson Plaza at City Hall is on the southeast side in the Heart of Frisco Square.  Pizza Hut Park is to the northeast of the intersection.

Q. What is the admission cost of the event?
A.  Admission to Party in the Plaza is FREE.  You have to purchase a ticket to the Pizza Hut Park events: the FC Dallas MLS game and Fireworks Extravaganza. For tickets call 1-888-FCD-GOAL, or go to the FC Dallas Website.


Q. Do any other activities have a cost?
A. *The children's inflatables, bounce houses, bungee jumps, face painting and other activities within Party in the Plaza range in price from $1 to $6 per turn.  An all day “jump” pass will also be available for $25. Sales of all-day jump passes will stop at 7:30 p.m.  For a complete list view the Children's Expo page.

*Concessions at Taste of Frisco range in price depending on offering and portion.  The individual restaurant vendors set their own prices.  The items for sale this year vary from snow cones and hot dogs to Tex-Mex favorites.  See the Taste of Frisco page for participating restaurants.


*Drinks including Coca-Cola products and bottled water will be sold at the drink tent in the middle of Simpson Plaza.  All drink items are priced at $2.

 

*Food and beverages at Pizza Hut Park have a cost. Concessions will operate as they normally would for an FC Dallas game.

 

*Come by the SPIRIT GEAR tent where you will find the popular Frisco logo T-shirts and coffee mugs for sale. You can also purchase Frisco Freedom Fest T-shirts, sun shades, and water bottles.

 

Q. Where do I park? 
A. There will be free parking at Pizza Hut Park, Frisco Square and the fields around the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.

Q. What can I bring with me to the event?
A. Bring your family, your friends and your neighbors! Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the day; however, there are a few things you cannot bring. No coolers (medical excluded) and no pets are allowed inside Party in the Plaza or Pizza Hut Park.

 

Q. Will there be an ATM on site?

A. The Collin Bank ATM is outside its storefront in Frisco Square on the east side of Coleman Boulevard, north of Simpson Plaza. Two portable ATMs will be located in the plaza north of the Community Stage.

Q. What kind of activities will be offered?
A.  This year's Party in the Plaza featured activities include the Children's Expo, Community Stage, and Hometown Heroes exhibit.  The Taste of Frisco, offers patrons fine fare from various local restaurants.  An MLS Soccer Match featuring FC Dallas vs. Kansas City Wizards will happen at Pizza Hut Park. The night ends with a bang with one of the biggest fireworks display in Texas


Q. Where will the fireworks be launched from?
A.  Fireworks will be launched from the fields north of Pizza Hut Park.
     Please note: Fireworks are only set for the festival on Saturday, July 3. The City of Frisco will not launch fireworks on Sunday, July 4.

 

Q. What is the best view for fireworks?

A.  Fireworks are visible from most of the areas around Simpson Plaza at City Hall and Pizza Hut Park.
