Just six days left until the "Biggest Fireworks Show in North Texas” will light up the skies over Frisco! The best seats in town are at Frisco Freedom Fest, which takes place Friday, July 4 at Simpson Plaza in front of City Hall in the heart of Frisco Square, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. -- and just across the street at Pizza Hut Park, 9200 World Cup Way.
The Party in the Plaza festival gets started at 4 p.m. and includes a Taste of Frisco, featuring 26 concessionaires and restaurants; 16 local performers on the Community Stage; a bigger than ever Children’s Expo; a Hometown Hero Exhibit, featuring Frisco’s police and fire departments; and an Old Fashioned Fourth at Frisco Heritage Center, which opened in May.
But the star attractions of this year’s 7th annual event are an FC Dallas vs. Kansas City Wizards soccer match starting at 6 p.m., followed by live music by ‘Freddy’ beginning at 8:30 p.m. Between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m., the City of Frisco and Pizza Hut Park will launch the “Biggest Fireworks Show in North Texas,” which is a high aerial, 20 minute show.
Following the most spectacular fireworks finale ever, our Frisco Freedom Fest headline performers, The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards, will take to the Pizza Hut Park main stage at approximately 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 for stadium seats, which include the game, both concerts and fireworks synchronized to music and a patriotic video presentation. You can also get ‘concert - fireworks only’ seats for $5. You can purchase $5 tickets at Pizza Hut Park’s North Box Office, which is open during the week from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. , or online by going to www.friscofreedomfest.org. The $10 tickets, which include the game, are only available online at www.friscofreedomfest.og Click on “Events” and then find “Buy Tickets” in the drop down menu.
If you listen to 106.1 KISS FM in the morning, you've heard host Kidd Kraddick promote Freddy and his fresh sound. The MOTOWN sounds of this year’s headline performers will have you to your feet as you sing along with The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards as they perform a string of MOTOWN hits. Edwards was lead singer for the Temptations when the legendary group was in the limelight with some of its No. 1 hit records such as Grammy award winning songs "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" and "Cloud Nine." He was also a lead vocalist on "Ball of Confusion," "Just My Imagination" and "I Can't Get Next to You.” Other hits to be performed include “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” “Get Ready,” “I’m Going to Make You Love Me,” and “The Way You Do the Thing You Do.”
